Golden International was established in Seattle in 1978 by Mr. Shu-Chi Hou and wife, Victoria Hou. As immigrants to a new country, they discovered that the market lacked quality, affordable Asian products for the average household. Many of the name-brands today did not yet exist, and with food being a core part of Asian culture, they wanted to share these values with their new home.
After more than forty years, Golden International is still family-owned and operated. The company has grown from small beginnings with a leased van and a home garage to their current location with 125,000 square feet of warehouse and office space in the Renton industrial district.
Golden International represents many major international Asian brands such as Chaokoh, Mae Ploy, Lee Kum Kee, Royal Umbrella, Yeo's Beverages, Wei Chuan, Healthy Boy, Mamasita, Buenas, & Martin Purefoods. They're also deeply tied to the flourishing domestic brand market, such as Huy Fong Sriracha, O'Tasty, and Phonomenal. In addition, you can find a wide range of products in their own brand, Golden Pak (also known as 1 Fish and 2Fish), such as rice, noodles, beans, canned foods, sauces, spices and seasonings, frozen fruits and vegetables, and a wide array of other Asian products.
They pride themselves on service, as many within the Seattle and Bellevue area can attest to. As a result, their name and brands have developed a strong presence within the community and industry.
